A gift of just $10 helps support community-led programs in Kasiya, Malawi – from girls’ education and women’s skills training to health, farming, and family support.
When many people give a little, this work grows – brick by brick, girl by girl, family by family.

Building a Foundation for Kasiya: Help Us Reach the Finish Line
At Umunthu Kasiya Initiative (UKI), we believe that sustainable change begins with a safe, dignified space where community-led solutions can grow.
The CBO building in Kasiya is meant to be the heart of our work—a hub for women, youth, and families. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have already raised $1,200 toward this goal.
We are now seeking help to raise the final portion of our $1,750 (3,044,500 MWK) budget. These funds are essential for structural repairs to windows, doors, roofing, and flooring, ensuring the space is safe and ready to serve the community.
Because material costs and exchange rates in Malawi can shift, we manage our budget carefully to maximize every dollar. Whenever possible, we ensure your donation goes further by hiring local workers and purchasing materials within Kasiya—investing your gift directly back into the local economy we serve.
Your support helps us complete this community space, providing a foundation for growth, learning, and connection for years to come.

Liquid Soap, Lasting Change
At Umunthu Kasiya Initiative (UKI), we believe that sustainable change begins with practical skills and community-led solutions.
One of the most requested income-generating activities from women in Kasiya is liquid soap making. Soap is needed every day in homes, schools, health centers, and local businesses, creating a steady demand while providing women with an opportunity to earn income close to home.
For just $38, we can provide the materials needed for a group of 30 women to learn and produce 30 liters of liquid soap. That’s approximately $1.27 per woman—a small investment that can help women gain skills, generate income, and strengthen their families.
Your support helps turn a simple training into lasting opportunity for women, families, and the wider Kasiya community.

A Simple Skill That Can Change a Girl’s Future
Many girls in Malawi miss school because they do not have access to safe menstrual products. For some, this causes them to fall behind or leave school altogether.
Through the Secondary School and the community center, UKI teaches girls and young women how to make their own reusable menstrual pads. This practical skill helps them manage their periods with dignity, confidence, and safety.
About 75,000 Malawian Kwacha – roughly $43 – provides materials for 25 girls to each make two reusable pads. That is only about $1.75 per girl.
Your support helps girls learn a life-changing skill, stay in school, and build a better future.
